NZS 4402.6.5.3 – Methods of testing soils for civil engineering purposes – Soil strength tests – Determination of the penetration resistance of a soil – Test 6.5.3 Cone penetration resistance using a cone or a friction cone

Describes the procedure for determining the static cone resistance of a soil in the field using a cone and additionally the side skin friction and friction ratio if a friction cone is used. The method permits the use of either mechanical or electrical penetrometers.
